Completely Unfit For Viewer Consumption

Dear Lord, Consumption is just a bad, bad, bad movie. You know there's a serious problem when you have to look at other reviews to figure out the plot of the film. Yes, Consumption could also be called Confusion. As a viewer, I had no idea what was going on. I wonder if the filmmakers had any idea either. The movie is utter nonsense with an unfathomable plot. Most of the film's exposition is essentially mumbo jumbo tossed together in a completely haphazard fashion. I did think I got some reference to evil spirits. Consumption is bad on just about every level. I haven't seen this awful of a movie in awhile. The acting in here is far more zombie-like than most of the events of the film. When some real zombies really appeared, the acting actually improved. The quotes on the DVD box must have been swiped from some other movie. Who in their right mind would think this mess in any way, shape or form was anywhere near John Carpenter's Prince of Darkness? I have trouble thinking Dread Central would like this junk. The so-called actors in here never show any emotion, even when zombies or demons show up. I guess the film crew wanted to show the landscape, which they do for quite awhile and is actually the best part of the film. The zombie thing at the end came out of nowhere, but so did almost everything else in this movie. The biggest problem of all is that Consumption is just plain dull. I almost fell asleep several times. The last ten minutes where big things should happen had five of it being taken up by talk! The tagline should really say "Live-In Fear Of Watching Consumption!" I give Consumption a very low rating of 2 out of 10.
