Story:
Tough times have hit the mining town of Copper Creek. It used to do pretty well with it's copper mine, but the mine shut down many years ago. Now, however, a corporation wants to reopen the mine. It is headed and named after a man by the name of Cerberus You would think the town might welcome a potential return to prosperity, but they are very suspicious of the company. The sheriff of the town is one edge as his wife has left and is cheating on him. He and his deputy, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, set out to confront the wife and her lover. There's also a couple of gun-toting loonies who are also drug users. All three groups get into a confrontation when things take a dramatic turn. The mine has been opened. And out pour zombies. You see the mine was sealed because a corporation was doing genetic experiments to create the perfect miner. Things went wrong and they created zombies instead. They were sealed away years ago, but now they are free again. The mine must be sealed again. The zombies are in the town. Is there any way to contain the outbreak?

Creative, Fun Movie

Now, I have literally seen thousands of zombie movies over the year. And I've seen many of them that involve the old military or scientists or corporation have been doing experiments to create the perfect soldiers, heal wounds, reanimate the dead, create genetic weapons, etc. But I've never seen one before where the wacky corporation or scientists were creating the perfect miners. That does make "Copper Creek" an original film. It takes an old concept and puts a new twist on it. And it fits in perfectly with what ends up being a very funny film. The acting in here is quite good. A perfect example of the casting is Charles Lynch who plays Cerberus. Now with a name like Cerberus you know he's got to be evil. Even better, the actor looks downright evil. Kudos to the make-up crew for making Lynch look like one evil, slimy corporate head. The make-up of the zombies was good. The blood and gore was well done. Most of all, the movie had a lot of funny moments. I loved how the bitter husband is trying to explain to his children why their mother left them, and he keeps on cussing her out and trashing her, despite saying that he shouldn't be doing that. I liked how the two drug-using gun-toters didn't want to sacrifice themselves to seal the mine, and the guy who they were going to volunteer proceeded to do so anyway. Another good point for me is that the creators of the film were obviously wrestling fans as can be seen from one character being named Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. One character makes sure to point that out in the course of the movie. But that's another reason I liked it. I give Copper Creek 9 out of 10.
