I’m not the best singer; I just sing my stories, my life.” Brantley writes about lovin’, drinkin’, partyin’, fightin’, trials and tribulations, faith and triumphs. He believes that songs motivate people to do something.

Shortly after the album’s October release, Gilbert will set sail for his second annual Kick It in the Ship cruise. Sure the charts still feature plenty of the sensitive, romantic guys whose songs have always been safer to play on radio and have traditionally been big sellers in country. But some of the hottest acts in the genre during the past couple of years have been Gilbert, Aldean and Florida Georgia Line – as well as Toby Keith, who for years seemed like the lone wolf in cultivating an image of the rugged, pickup-driving, tequila-drinking, good-time guy.
I have reviewed Brantley Gilbert records before and given him credit for the quality songs he usually includes. His new record is on my radar and I may post a review for it. Thanks for reading.
So what was wrong with that performance I thought it was good. Don’t say it was bad just because you don’t like the music. Plus it you didn’t like it blame the people who booked him he did what he was meant to do simple as done BG and awesome album.
Now that Gilbert lives a more settled with his wife Amber, son Barrett and a daughter on the way by the end of 2019, he told Taste of Country in 2015 he’s “got enough of the rowdy, rambunctious ink.” Future tattoos, he said at the time, will reflect his happy home life.
Gilbert’s Not Like Us Tour with Ell wrapped earlier this month, but Ell can still be heard jamming with him on the radio as “What Happens in a Small Town” is a Top 10 hit, available on his Fire & Brimstone album.
Gilbert may have a lot to say in his songs, but he doesn’t have any grand theories for why country radio is suddenly falling in love with the rocking bad boys of the genre.
The country star’s new album, Fire & Brimstone,” arrives Oct. 4, and you can count on him doing the single What Happens in a Small Town,” featuring one of his tour’s support acts, Lindsay Ell. Up-and-comer Michael Ray (Kiss You in the Morning”) also will perform.

What about that audience, though? The front rows at Gilbert’s shows hold an intense brand of country-rock fan that come to party with some abandon. Early in the star’s career, that wasn’t the place to be caught viewing the show through the screen of your cell phone. As it turns out, this is all good news for an artist like Ell, who experienced some success with “Criminal” and songs from her album The Project but is still not quite a known name in every country music circle.
As he gained songwriting credits, Gilbert also started recording his own music. Signed to the indie label Average Joe’s Entertainment, he released his first album, Modern Day Prodigal Son,” in 2009.
There are brawny Southern rock-tinged country on tunes like If You Want a Bad Boy” and Small Town Throwdown” mixed in with a few rockers that have a slightly softer edge (Bottoms Up” and 17 Again”) and several muscular, but tender-hearted, ballads (I’m Gone” and Let It Ride”).
Gilbert, who takes writing the songs of his life as seriously he does the fans who feel like they live inside those songs, lives to bring the music to the people. With two nights at Colorado’s iconic Red Rocks, the Bay area’s Shoreline Amphitheater and a kick-off at Boston’s Xfinity Center, the man who won the 2015 American Music Awards’ Favorite Country Album for Just As I Am is matching the BlackOut arena tour with an equally comprehensive collection of outdoors dates.
Brantley Gilbert earns his third total and consecutive No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart, as Fire & Brimstone debuts atop the Oct. 19-dated tally.
Brantley Keith Gilbert was born January 20, 1985 in Jefferson, Georgia, the oldest son of Keith and Rebecca Porter Gilbert. His brother Kolby is also a talented singer, but is too shy to take the stage. Brantley was in a near-fatal accident at age 19 caused by driving drunk. The wreck erased most of his memories. Writing songs help recapture some memories he lost in the crash. On December 18, 2011 the 6′ singer-songwriter gave up alcohol.
The dude can sing. So what he had an off day. People just can’t be happy for him. I have all of his records. The dude just do anything bad. The guy is country rock. If you don’t like then don’t listen to him is that simple.
I had heard of his name before, but had not yet heard his music or really knew what he looked like. I recall walking back into the room mid song. I was asking, is this supposed to be shitty country or shitty rock. Either way it is f’ing no good.
Gilbert’s concert was essentially the fulfillment of that prophecy, bolstered by ’80s-rock power chords, occasional hip-hop rhythms and video-board displays of people getting sufficiently rowdy. The only twang to be heard was in the Georgia native’s gritty, gravelly voice.
Brantley Gilbert brings his Fire’t Up 2020 Tour with special guests Dylan Scott & Brandon Lay to Target Center on Friday, February 7. Country music star Brantley Gilbert has announced a second concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Saturday, May 9, 2020.
Gilbert wraps up his Not Like Us Tour this weekend and then launches his Fire’t Up Tour in late January, including a stop Feb. 6 at the Resch Center. His new album, “Fire & Brimstone,” came out Oct. 4 and includes the hit “What Happens in a Small Town” with Lindsay Ell.
You guys don’t know what your talking about. Brantley Gilbert is more of a real down to earth, not afraid to be who he is kinda person. And what’s with having a halftime show on the 20 yard line. Looks like you didn’t want to give a good ole Georgia boy any room.
In the past six years, the Georgia native has gotten rowdy with fans around the globe thanks to the success of hits like Hell On Wheels,” Bottoms Up,” Small Town Thowdown,” Kick It in the Sticks,” You Don’t Know Her Like I Do,” and Country Must Be Country Wide.” But Brantley Gilbert will up the ante when he heads to the Chip during the 75th anniversary of Sturgis Bike Week.
