A Fantastic Movie

Dead Weight ended up being a genuine surprise and an excellent one at that. I loved this movie. This one took me completely by surprise. With many indy zombie films, you expect them to not necessarily be all that great, but Dead Weight proves to be a great exception to that rule. There are a lot of things to like about Dead Weight. One thing that stood out for me was that The Infected are out there, but we don't see that much of them for most of the movie. That was fantastic as it built up suspense and increased the threat they represented. It was also very old school where the monster or main threat doesn't show up until the final moments of the film. I believe it's still true that you can generate more dread by getting viewers to tap into their imagination than by showing everything. The acting in here was excellent across the board. The performances were so good that some things that would seem utterly ludicrous, such as bargaining over a woman, seemed entirely believable here. I loved how the character of Charlie was written and portrayed. That was really some good stuff. I thought the decisions that he made were fascinating, but they were also understandable. The ending was very powerful. Dead Weight is truly a fantastic movie and should be viewed by every zombie film fan out there. I give Dead Weight an enthusiastic 10 out of 10.
